AIIMS partners with MediSim VR to drive adoption of VR skill training in medical education

Chennai-based MediSim VR has announced its partnership with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, to integrate its AI-enabled Virtual Reality (VR) solutions into medical and nursing education. 

This collaboration represents a strategic milestone in advancing research on the integration of VR-based skill training within India’s medical education curriculum.

As India’s leading academic and research home for medicine, AIIMS has consistently set the standards for excellence in healthcare education and training.

Through this partnership, AIIMS and MediSim VR will jointly research and evaluate how VR can be embedded into the medical and nursing curriculum, studying its impact on skill development, standardisation, and long-term adoption. This collaborative effort reinforces AIIMS’ role as the benchmark institution for advancing new methods of medical learning in India.

Dr M Srinivas, Director, AIIMS, New Delhi, said, speaking at the launch event stated, “If the country as a whole is to be in the best league, that has to extend to all spheres, including medical innovations, medical teaching, training and learning as well. VR-based simulation training allows for a learning environment where you are immersed and exposed to all things you will experience in a clinical setting. This collaboration enables us to further study how immersive technologies can contribute to skill development, assessment and training standardisation.”
